
CHARLI MACKIE
FILM MUSIC COMPOSER

Charli is a London-based composer, orchestrator, and multi-instrumentalist working across film, TV, documentary, song-writing, theatre, and commercials.
With extensive classical and jazz training, and a background in electronic and experimental music, she creates distinctive scores that blend acoustic and synthetic sounds.
She plays 12 instruments, including electric cello, Armenian duduk, Celtic harp, Andean charango, and traditional orchestral instruments such as flute, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, piano, and violin.
After earning a BA in Music, Charli completed an MA in Composing for Film and TV at the National Film and Television School. Her work spans feature films, series, animation, video games, musical theatre, and documentary.
Recent credits include the award-winning animated musical DRAGFOX (2024), starring Sir Ian McKellen and Divina de Campo (Yugo BAFTA, Venice International “Best Soundtrack”), the Student Academy Award–nominated documentary Mail Order Queens (2024), and the cinema-touring feature doc War Paint (2024) by BAFTA-winner Margy Kinmonth (War Art with Eddie Redmayne). She also scored Amazon Prime’s Ship of Dreams: Titanic Movie Diaries.
Her work has screened at major festivals including London Film Festival, Telluride, IRIS, NaturVision, Gran Paradiso, CAA Moebius, GAZE International, GS Wildlife, VFF LA, LSFF, and Fantoche.
