ABOUT

Charli is a London-based composer, orchestrator and multi instrumentalist, working across film, TV, documentary, video games and commercials.

Her extensive classical/jazz training and background in electronic/experimental music allows for the creation of unique and impactful scores and sound pallets, blending together both acoustic and synthetic sound.

She plays a total of 12 instruments, including the electric cello, Armenian duduk, Celtic harp and the Andean charango, as well as traditional orchestral instruments such as the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trombone, piano and violin.

After completing her BA in music, she studied at the National Film and Television School and has since gone on to score for feature films, TV series, video games, animation, musical theatre and documentary.

She has also written, orchestrated and conducted songs and musical works for ensembles including The London Gay Big Band’, a 20-piece London-based jazz orchestra, the NFTS Studio Orchestra, a 30-piece orchestra lead by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s Sophie Mather, and the Royal Academy of Music’s Asaka string quartet. Other musical theatre works include the BAFTA winning ‘DragFox’, a stop-motion animation starring Sir Ian McKellen and Ru-Paul’s Davina Decampo, and ‘Bongo’s Big Adventure’, a children’s television show starring Simon Willmont from West End’s ‘MAMMA MIA!.

Recent projects include the Yugo BAFTA winning animated musical ‘DRAGFOX’(2024), starring Sir Ian McKellen and Divina de Campo, student Academy Award-nominated documentary ‘Mail Order Queens’(2024), ‘War Paint’(2024), a feature documentary from BAFTA award-winning director Margy Kinmonth (War Art With Eddie Redmayne, 2015) and ’Skylight’, a psychological horror from the team behind Philip Barantini’s ‘Boiling Point’(2021).

Other projects have been shown at esteemed festivals including: London Film Festival, IRIS, NaturVision, Gran Paradiso, TELLURIDE, CAA Moebius, GAZE International, GS Wildlife Film Festival, VFF LA, LSFF, Fantoche.
